Please come by our center or call during business hours to discuss the educational needs of your child. Sessions typically last for one to two hours weekly, with more intense instruction occurring twice a week as needed to help your child achieve his or her potential. Options exist for in-person or virtual classes with Elementary students in sessions of three or fewer children and Middle School students in sessions of four or fewer children. We look forward to helping your student catch up, jump up, and stay up!

Tips for a New School Year
Tips for a New School Year Follow these guidelines to help your child succeed. Practice Basic Skills: Whether it's mathematics, writing, or language skills, practice makes perfect. Reviewing and honing your foundational skills over the summer will give you an edge when tackling more complex topics during the school year. Develop a Reading Habit: Read books, articles, and other materials that pique your interest. Reading regularly not only expands your knowledge but also enhances your vocabulary and comprehension skills. Practice Time Management: Time management is crucial for academic success. Start creating a study schedule that balances learning with other activities and commitments, ensuring you have time for relaxation and leisure as well. Stay Curious and Ask Questions: Always remain curious and don't hesitate to ask questions. Curiosity fuels learning, and seeking answers will deepen your understanding of the subjects you encounter. Organize and Set Goals: Start by organizing your study materials and creating a study plan. Set clear, achievable goals for what you want to accomplish in the upcoming school year. Having a road map will keep you focused and motivated. With determination and dedication, you'll be well prepared to tackle any challenges that come your way during the school year and beyond. Summer - A Great Time to Gain Confidence
Help your child avoid the summer slide! The decline in academic skills and knowledge over the summer break can lead to learning loss. It is harmful for several reasons: 1. Knowledge Loss: Without consistent academic engagement, students can experience a significant loss. This loss can set them back when they return to school, requiring additional time and effort to catch up with their peers. 2. Skill Regression: Skills such as reading comprehension, critical thinking, and problem-solving can suffer if not practiced regularly. 3. Lack of Continuity: Learning is a continuous process, and a prolonged break disrupts the flow of education. Students may forget concepts and struggle to connect new material to what they learned previously. 4. Emotional Impact: The summer slide can negatively impact students' self-esteem and motivation. Falling behind academically can lead to feelings of frustration, discouragement, and a loss of interest in learning. This emotional toll can have long-term effects on a student's attitude towards education. JEI Learning Centers offer programs to meet every student’s unique needs during the summer. Recognizing the harmful effects of the summer slide highlights the importance of implementing strategies to prevent learning loss during the break. Get started today to mitigate the negative impact and set your child up for success in the coming school year.
