Fiona holds a bachelor’s degree in education from the University of the Witwatersrand and a master’s in brain-based learning from Nova Southeastern University, focusing her research on the brain’s adaptability. With over 30 years of diverse teaching experience, Fiona’s accolades include 'teacher of the year' and recognitions for her commitment to shaping young minds. She boasts 15 years leading acclaimed after-school programs, earning national recognition for excellence.

QWhat is the student to teacher ratio?

AClasses have a maximum ratio of five students to one teacher.
QHow is student progress measured?

AStudents will take Achievement and Diagnostic Tests periodically. In JEI Math and JEI English, students take an interim test during each weekly session.
QWhat do students do at the center?

AEach week, students receive one workbook for the subject they are enrolled in. Instructors will review the key concept pages of the week with the students.
QHow often do students come to the center?

AStudents come to the center once a week. The weekly session for each subject is typically one hour long.
QHow much homework is there?

AStudents will do the remaining pages of the workbook as homework. JEI recommends they complete a few pages daily.
QHow long does it take to complete homework?

AHomework will vary by the child’s ability level. Typically, it will take less than half an hour per day.
