Meet our staff

Each of our teachers brings unique skills and expertise, ensuring that your children receive the best possible support in their learning journey. With our growing team, we are better equipped than ever to provide individualized attention and foster a love for learning in every student. Introducing Our Teachers: • Mrs. Chrissy Christina oversees majority of the educational aspects of our center, bringing over two decades of teaching experience to her role. She is certified in the Orton-Gillingham program, a specialized approach to teaching students with reading and writing challenges. Her passion and classroom expertise are integral to the success of our center. •Mr. Josh A cornerstone of our team, Mr. Josh has been with the JEI Learning Center for over a year. As an excellent math teacher, he continues to make a difference in our students' lives. He even tutors Mr. Jay’s son, who is currently studying 12th grade calculus, highlighting his dedication and expertise. • Ms. Marissa Ms. Marissa is a graduate from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Elementary Education and is currently pursuing her Masters in Early Childhood and Students with Disabilities. She brings valuable classroom experience having taught Fourth grade, Kindergarten, First Grade, and Pre-K Special Education. In her own words: "I am sincerely grateful to be a new addition to the JEI family! In my spare time I enjoy doing yoga, going to the beach, and traveling - especially to places we learn within the classroom! I look forward to being a part of this team!" Ms. Marissa will be working with our students on Wednesday evenings and Thursdays from 7-8PM, which allows us to extend our Thursday hours and better accommodate families with later schedules. Her expertise in early childhood education and special needs support perfectly aligns with our commitment to providing personalized attention for every student. We're confident she'll be a wonderful addition to our team of certified educators. • Ms. Sophia C. Sophia C. holds a Bachelor of Science in Integrative Neuroscience from Fordham University, with a concentration in Cognition & Behavior and a minor in Sociology. She is excited to join the JEI Learning Center team and brings with her a passion for accessible and inclusive education. Sophia has gained years of hands-on experience with Mrs. Chrissy, serving as a substitute teacher at St. Paul School of Princeton. She has experience mentoring, tutoring and conducting research in ethics and disability studies. She is dedicated to supporting every child's academic journey by encouraging growth, building confidence, and inspiring a love for learning. • Ms. Sophia B. Sophia B. was previously the co-coordinator of the Bordentown Regional School District’s STEM for Kids program, an after-school program where she helped lead STEM-based lessons and activities for 4th-8th grade students. Additionally, she was a Peer Mentor during her education at Rowan College at Burlington County, where she graduated with honors in 2022. She's currently completing her bachelor’s degree in Communications at The College of New Jersey. Her education and community involvement has allowed her to develop a well-rounded skill set and a comprehensive understanding of how to work with students of all ages. "I'm looking forward to helping students grow and learn in my upcoming time with JEI Learning Center!" • Mr. Jay While our teachers take turns teaching throughout the week, having these extra teachers allows me to be at the front desk more often to interact with you and your children during their visits. It also gives me time to work on everyday tasks so I can get home to my family. ---------- We are incredibly proud of our team and the unique strengths each member brings to our center. We are growing, but we are staying committed to our 4:1 student-to teacher ratio. This ensures small class sizes, minimizes distractions, and maximizes learning opportunities for every child. This personalized service provides: • Completely personalized attention - 100% focus on your child's specific needs • Distraction-free environment - Sessions held in our dedicated classroom C with zero distractions from other children • Same proven JEI curriculum - Your child continues with the same materials and progression they know • Enhanced English program - One-on-one English sessions include our upgraded curriculum with vocabulary components • Homework continues - Students go home with assignments to reinforce learning, just like in regular classes • Flexible scheduling - Work around your family's busy schedule • Targeted skill building - Address specific challenges or accelerate advanced learners • Experienced instructors - Sessions with our caring, qualified teachers Perfect For: • Students who need extra support in challenging areas • Advanced learners ready to move ahead faster • Test preparation and skill reinforcement • Building confidence in math or English concepts • Vocabulary building and language development • Homework help and study strategies • Students who learn best in quiet, focused environments • Students new to JEI who want to get started with individual attention How It Works One-on-one sessions are held in our quiet, dedicated classroom C, ensuring your child can focus completely without any distractions. We continue to use the same JEI curriculum your child is familiar with, and they'll still receive homework assignments to practice at home. For English sessions, students will benefit from our upgraded program that includes vocabulary components - giving them an even stronger foundation in language skills. Sessions can be scheduled during our operating hours or by special arrangement. Each session is tailored to your child's learning level and specific goals. For current JEI students, sessions integrate seamlessly with their regular program. For new families, it's a great way to experience our personalized approach.
