Star Student Alert! Swara is INSPIRING!
Our students amaze us every day and today's star student is no exception. We have always been amazed by some of the writing that our students come up with. Our student, Swara, was recently recognized by NJ Gifted and Talented Association, placing 3rd in the NJAGC 2021 Student Writing Contest; this shows just how hard-working our amazing students are.
As she steps into the new year, she uses the word "inspire" to motivate and drive her this year. Hope she inspires you...
The New Year 2021 is an unusual year for everyone. Why? Because during this pandemic, everyone was feeling isolated and apprehensive to expand as a person, and go beyond their restrictions. No one had the courage to handle this situation, and it was modern for everyone across the world. People want to begin this year with enthusiasm and excel with their growth. Everyone makes New Year's resolutions to commence the year with optimism and the urge to look forward to this year with the ability to be appreciative of your triumphs, and being able to grasp challenges. Everyone, especially kids, want to prove that the coronavirus is not going to terminate anyone one of us from exceeding our expectations and taking risks. One word I would like to keep as my goal for the rest of the year is, inspire. This word is an impacting word for me in life because I want to get inspired by others, and want to be inspirational for others. I want to set an example for people around me, and prove to myself that I can go beyond my limits and expose myself to a variety of confrontations. Another word I would like to keep as a goal for myself would be, brave. This word relates to me as a person and will assist me go on throughout this year because I will be able to participate in activities even if I'm unsure of my answer. The final word as my goal for the year would be, rise. The word, rise, causes me to take this year as a boost of challenges and expectations! I want to start this year with positivity, courage, and the will to explore!
One word I would like to keep as the goal of the year is, inspire. This word is a powerful word for me in life because I want to become inspired by others, and want to be inspirational for others. I want to be a role model for people around me, and prove to myself that I can go beyond my limits and expose myself to a variety of events. This would inspire others to be out going in front of the teachers, and to be able to share out their ideas with no regret in mind. In school, I can be inspirational by participating as much as possible and cooperating with others. I can also start going beyond my comfort zone, and going on the uncomfortable path to gradually progress myself as a person. Being inspirational doesn't mean to become famous, it means to show your talent through passion and sincerity. Some people can misunderstand the meaning of inspiration with the word, fame. Being inspirational can be tough, but unless I can just keep doing my best and concentrating on everything I do, I can definitely achieve my goal! The first step I might take to reach my goal is to attend school with attention because I often become distracted. To deplete my sense of distraction, I can try being tranquil by practicing mindfulness. The effect will make me more understanding, thoroughly creative, and relaxed. I will continue to shape myself as a student! If I see that I'm doing well in a concept, I will probably give myself tough problems to diversify my mindset and not restraint myself!
Another word I would like to remain as the goal of the year is, brave. Being brave can be in various forms, and it doesn't have to be relating to physical activities, it can also be academic activities. This word portrays me as a person and will help me go on throughout this year. Consequently, in school, sometimes I would only raise my hands if I definitely know the answer, but instead of raising my hand when I'm certain of the answer, I can try raising my hand even if I'm unsure. That will guide me to realize my mistakes and how to improve on them. I might change myself by exposing myself to various activities like groups where I can communicate with others and become social, even if I'm frightened to attend them. I might change my attitude by speaking out and sharing my ideas abundantly. Being brave is tough in school, because discussing in front of students and teachers is overwhelming, so maybe I might start in a procedure. I might first try it out by performing it with a couple of people, then my entire class, then various other classes, and finally a crowd of people! I can also enhance my skills of asking questions boldly in front of teachers, and always questioning whenever I'm confused about anything in school or at home. This will make me realize how facile it is to express my ideas freely, without nervousness.
The final goal I would like to keep as my goal is, rise. The word rise is a very common word many people use as their goal for the start of the year. This word can make me a better person, because I can rise on several subjects. I can rise beyond my ego in life by not feeling very elated about myself, and I can rise above my school work and upgrade expectations for myself in class. I can also try accepting the feedback my parents and teachers give, whether it's pessimistic or assuring. I can depict myself by rising above my limitations and elevating my capabilities of multi-tasking! This is necessary for me because I will be going into middle school next year, and there will be numerous tasks to handle and complete. I might try to spend more time with my family as well because usually I have school and that's why I don't get to speak with my endearing brother! That's how I might rise by spending more time with my relatives! I can rise above my negative thoughts, and start thinking positive about my future, and how I'm going to make this year a splendid year for me!
The words which most impact me as a person are, inspire, brave, and rise. I will always look back at 2020, and look ahead to 2021 to see what this fantastic and challenging new year will bring. 2020 was a resistant year for everyone, but we all have to look up at this year and say to ourselves, I will be a different person this year. Changing your attitude and your bad habits to good ones is essential. You might feel proud of yourself next year to see how you have progressed during 2021. Soon, Coronavirus will soon fade away, and we will be back on our daily routine. May this year start with a bang!

JEI student since 2019
Students from all backgrounds can thrive in this environment, as demonstrated by Swara who did not love writing when she first started. Now that she's built up her skills and confidence, she is able to see herself in a whole new light. A light that we hope will give her the confidence to pursue her dreams.
